PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY

PROJECT OBJECTIVE

This research aims to elucidate problems that arise in the transaction law aspects and the supervision/regulation law aspects of Japanese financial law from the perspective of the global user. Considering the increased use of free trade agreements in Asia, this analysis will not only focus on current laws, but also explore laws ideal for the future.

PROJECT CONTENT
1. Construction of a Japanese Model of Financial Transaction Law for the Global User.
Since the needs of financial transaction users have become globalized, the condition of Japanese financial transaction law must be viewed not only from an internal market point of view, but also from an external perspective as well. Upon clarification of Japanese financial transaction law, this project will investigate problems, transmit the research results externally, and propose new legislation if necessary.

2. Research on the international harmonization and mutual recognition of financial supervision/regulation.
The field of financial supervision/regulation has substantially changed over the last 10 years in Japan. While taking a global perspective, this project will look at the relationship between international transactions and relevant reformations of Japan, investigate mutual impact, define problems, transmit the research results, and propose new legislation if necessary.
